SUNOGRAPHY
I think the sun may have gone to our heads a little today, but why not take advantage and head outside to do some sunography? This is a great technique using paper that responds to ultraviolet light to produce eerie blue and white images, perfect for our artist book project and the last of the illustrative techniques the pupils will use to put together their zines.
We've only got one session left and then were going to have a celebratory exhibition at the school, you can see what the other artists and classes have been up to here.

LIBRARY LOVE
Today I visited Canada Water Library to attend the Arts Council consultation 'Envisioning the Libraries of the Future'. I really enjoyed sharing the afternoon with library and arts professionals, sharing ideas, hopes and aspirations.
What really came out was how passionate people are about libraries and the way that they serve their communities, it was interesting to think about librarys' physical space and virtual services, it was also challenging to think about libraries in a digital age when so much of our world is being changed and formed by new technologies.
I'm interested to see how the Arts Council responds to the discussion in it's new ten year vision for libraries, due later this year. I hope that it presents opportunities for arts, culture, heritage and libraries to work together. Even though the sectors are very different it is clear that a lot of our ambitions are the same.

INSIDE MY HEAD
Sometimes you just have to make, to put something together that's about what's happening inside. I'm not sure where these are going yet, but I'm really enjoying the process.

MAKING
Progress is being made on the Artist Book Project at Falinge Park High School, the pupils are making some lovely mixed media illustrations using printing, textiles and graphic design... not many weeks left, I'm looking forward to seeing how the pupils work the different techniques I've been introducing.

TATTON PARK BIENNIAL 2012
Every two years, something very special happens at Tatton Park, something to ignite the senses and the imagination... last night I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of the
Tatton Park Biennial 2012, a contemporary art festival set in the beautiful grounds and mansion of Tatton Park, Cheshire. Aside from some curious art pieces, we got to see deer and the most fabulous gardens... the show runs all through the summer until 30th September, treat yourself to a day out.
